CYF elects new executive

By Thomas Madhuku

At the 2011 National AGM at Mount Selinda, Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) had another opportunity to elect the new executive tasked with steering the council to 2012.
The elections were historic in that it is the first time an election was held without much contestation as members were unanimous on the elected candidates. It needed only two and half hours to complete the electoral process. This development demystified the perceptions held by many that elections are interruptive and consume the bulk of AGM time.

The new National Executive is as follows:
President- Edmore Mahlanganise
Vice President- Liberty Chidoko
Secretary- Priscillar Chimanyiwa
Vice Secretary- Michael Dhlakama
Treasurer- Tellme Madidi
Advisor- Mai Munyamani
Senior Friend Rep- Baba Mangezi
Urban North Rep- Morgan Matsiya
Urban South Rep- Takudzwa Guzete
Save Valley Rep- Freedom Kumbula
Highlands Rep- Shepherd Sigauke
2012 AGM Venue- Masvingo

We want to thank the outgoing President Sister Carol Mlambo now Mai Chokoza for a smooth transition in spite of compelling challenges prior to the AGM. She stood her ground in defence of the girl child and leadership. She managed to organise one of the best AGMs in the history of CYF though she had other commitments.
It is also important to thank pastors and senior friends who graced the AGM in their numbers. The outgoing Advisor now the Eastern Conference Baba Munyamani who was and still remains a pillar of strength and wisdom to the council, we salute your sacrifice and dedication.

We call upon every CYF member to rally behind this new executive for the realisation of our goals and objectives.

Brother Thomas Madhuku is a CYF member from Mbare church
